He was one of the great stars of Manchester United's youth teams, and had important minutes with the club. However, an extra-sports controversy ended up dooming his career in England, and he was recently signed by a team in Spain. Now, it seems that the doors of the England National Team are also closing on him and specific interest is reported from the Jamaican National Team to acquire his services.

Greenwood had scored his last goal in January 2022, in a match between the Red Devils and Brentford. After that match, he only played one more match for the English club, at Old Trafford against West Ham, on January 22 of last year. After that he was arrested and spent 18 months without playing due to some videos of his girlfriend uploaded to Instagram accusing him of abuse.

Jamaica coach Heimir Hallgrimsson now wants Greenwood to follow in the footsteps of Prem stars Ethan Pinnock, Demarai Gray and Michail Antonio and play for the island nation. "We would like to have the best talent on our team. If he regains his physical fitness and his previous levels, then surely he will have that level to help Jamaica," he began his story. The 22-year-old footballer arrived in Getafe this summer on deadline day and made his debut on September 17.

Mason Greenwood wants to play for Jamaica?

It remains to be seen whether the Brit, selected once for England but aware that the chances of finding the Three Lions in the short term are less due to his tarnished reputation, will he be convinced this time? Still eligible with another national team, Greenwood could be called up by Jamaica for the FIFA International break that is at the end of the current day. His coach, José Bordalás, promised to help him "recover his best level", the one he reached in England, where he debuted at the age of 17 and played 129 games.
