Philippe Coutinho returned to the Premier League in style.

Nobody knows soccer, and that's the beauty of the game. Coutinho has shown that anything can happen after a horrible first half of the season at Barcelona and now, on his return to the Premier League, with a display starting from the bench against Manchester United, who could only take a point from Villa Park.

The Brazilian came on in the 68th minute, with the match practically in United's hands, who led 0-2 with a brace from Bruno Fernandes. However, between the defensive weakness of Rangnick's team and the ability of the Barcelona-owned player, the match had everything from the missed save of 'Dibu' Martinez in the 0-1 to the return of a prodigal son to the English League.

Manchester United played without Cristiano Ronaldo

The match did not start well for Gerrard, who after six minutes were already behind on the scoreboard after a big mistake by Emiliano under the sticks, in a shot by Bruno Fernandes that did not seem to carry too much danger, but that went under the legs of the Argentine goalkeeper. It was a play of what they call "karma" after what happened in the first leg at Old Trafford.

Without Cristiano Ronaldo, United's attack was boosted by compatriot Bruno and Greenwood's speed on the right flank. After his mistake, Emiliano stepped up and prevented several dangerous actions of the visitors that would have left Aston Villa on the canvas, but with the 0-1 came alive at halftime.

The second half started with De Gea, who is in a good moment however, his team is not. The goalkeeper blocked several appearances by Ramsey and Buendia in the area of the 'red devils'. And in the 67th minute, taking advantage of a Villa defensive error, Fred assisted Bruno Fernandes, who beat Emiliano Martinez one-on-one.

The little magician changed the game

It was then that Gerrard, who knows him well from his time at Liverpool, introduced a Coutinho who changed everything just for his impetus and desire to feel like a footballer again. Before starting he received an ovation from the whole Villa Park and that gave him fuel for the subsequent exhibition. To begin with, in the 77' he created the play that would end with Ramsey's 1-2.

Coutinho once again looked like the Liverpool Coutinho that dazzled the entire soccer world. He appeared on the left, also in the midfield, with freedom and, above all, the desire to put his team on his back. In the 82nd minute, he made the stadium explode with the equalizer. He was in the right place at the far post to finish off a great assist from Ramsey.

United were stunned by what was happening, as it seemed that at that pace they would even lose the game. Gerrard already has at home the revulsive he needed for his Aston Villa, who ended up celebrating a valuable point to continue working for the permanence. The Red Devils, meanwhile, are in free fall.
