Former Manchester United star Nani has found himself at the center of a controversy after an incident with a fan following a training session at Estrela da Amadora. A fan approached the Portuguese international asking for an autograph on a Portugal national team shirt. However, the situation took an unexpected turn when Nani claimed the shirt belonged to him and had been stolen from his home.

The fan, however, has disputed Nani's claim on social media, stating that the shirt was a replica and had never been worn. In response to the growing controversy, Nani's representatives have issued a statement expressing regret over the incident and promising to investigate the authenticity of the shirt.

Nani's Official Statement:

"Following the incident that occurred after training and the subsequent video that was posted online, Luís Nani regrets the misunderstanding and embarrassment caused to the fan. The shirt in question was identified by Nani as an official shirt from his personal collection that had been stolen. At the time, several of these shirts appeared for sale online, but the player was unable to recover all of them. The shirt that the player kept in his possession after the fan asked for an autograph, as seen in the video, has been collected for verification to determine if it is indeed the stolen shirt from his private collection."

The investigation into the authenticity of the shirt will determine whether this was a simple misunderstanding or a more serious issue. In the meantime, Nani's reputation has taken a hit due to the controversy.
