Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr lost 2-1 against Al Hilal in the Saudi Super Cup semi-final at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium. Al Nassr would feel frustrated with this result as they scored a goal in the first half that was disallowed and could've changed the game. Al Hilal continues with a winning streak and breaks their own record one game at a time. Without Neymar, Al Hilal now reaches 33 consecutive wins this season and will play in the Saudi Super Cup final against Karim Benzema's Al Ittihad on Thursday. The controversial thing about the game was the red card Cristiano Ronaldo received late in the game.

Cristiano Ronaldo did not have a great game for Al Nassr despite creating chances and getting close to scoring in the game. Ronaldo had two shots on target in the first half, and his team even scored before halftime, but it was disallowed because of his interference. Just before halftime, Al Nassr scored as a cross was sent in the box, and Otavio poked the ball into the net, but since Ronaldo tried to touch the ball in an offside position, the goal was canceled, and it was 0-0 at halftime. After the first half ended, Ronaldo and the Al Nassr players protested the decision.
In the second half, Al Hilal scored two goals that finished the game off. The frustration for Ronaldo grew more and more throughout the game. In the 86th minute, Ronaldo's temper reached its reaching point, and he was sent off for violent conduct. It was Al Nassr's ball, and Ronaldo tried to grab the ball back, but Al Hilal's Ali Al-Bulayhi tried wasting time by getting in front of Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo was furious with Al-Bulayhi, and he slightly elbows him. Ronaldo was sent off, and he even held himself back from throwing a ball at the referee. Ronaldo took his time to leave the pitch and sarcastically clapped at the referee. The ban he could potentially face is missing the next two or three matches. No confirmation of a potential ban has yet been revealed.
