Lionel Messi is one of the greatest footballers of all time and is one of the greatest athletes of all time. He is known worldwide, and his impact on the MLS is proof of that. The Argentine star making the move to Inter Miami was very surprising for many football fans. It was a risk for him, but it was not a risk for the MLS club as the club has grown in many different ways.

Inter Miami is among the newest clubs in the MLS, and the franchise co-owned by David Beckham needed to make a statement signing to compete in the league. They made that statement when they signed Messi last summer as a free agent after he left PSG. Inter Miami has grown in popularity, and it shows on their social media.

According to Joe Pompliano, the club's valuation has grown by 72%. Last year, it was worth $600 million, but now it is at $1.03 billion. Their Instagram followers in 2023 were around 1 million, but now it has over 17 million. Inter Miami's annual revenue was $60 million, and now it would receive around $200 million.

The success on the pitch has been found, as well. Last summer, Inter Miami won the Leagues Cup with Messi, who scored lots of goals. Messi was the top goalscorer in the competition, scoring ten goals and providing one assist. He had the most goal contributions in the competition with 11 goals and helped Inter Miami win their first major trophy in the club's history.

Inter Miami is now one of the favorites to win the MLS Cup in December after an impressive season so far. With help from teammates like Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, and Luis Suarez, Inter Miami are first in the Eastern Conference with 50 points after 24 matches played. Their record in the MLS so far is 15 wins, five draws, and four defeats.

The MLS club will look to try and win another Leagues Cup, but this time without Lionel Messi. Inter Miami will count on Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets. Inter Miami owner Jorge Mas and co-owner David Beckham are confident that the team will compete in the tournament. The team from South Florida will already have pressure on their hands since they are the current champions of this competition. The matches will all be streamed on Apple TV.

The matches will be played in the United States and Inter Miami will play at home against Club Puebla at home at the Chase Stadium. They will then play against Tigres UNAL at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

Inter Miami's matches in Leagues Cup 2024
