Kevin De Bruyne returned to action earlier this month, and he hasn't seemed to miss a beat from his previous form in the past seasons for Manchester City. The Belgian missed most of the first half of this season after suffering a hamstring injury in the first match week against Burnley.

Man City defeated Burnley 3-0 in that game, but the City fans were worried about the Belgian's health since he suffered an injury in the 2023 Champions League final against Inter Milan. In City's 1-0 win to Inter, the Belgian left the pitch in the 36th minute. De Bruyne only played 23 minutes against Burnley.
Man City would go on to perform well in the league, currently second in the Premier League and topping their Champions League group with a 100% record, winning all six group stage games. A few losses draw worried City fans about missing the final piece in the middle for creativity. They were pulling results but weren't efficient in front of goal without De Bruyne and Erling Haaland.
He would again show his class in the FA Cup 5-0 win against Huddersfield by providing an assist. He would make an impact again when City completed a crazy comeback against Newcastle United with a goal and an assist by the Belgian. The Belgian was also named 4th in FIFA's Best Player ranking, below Kylian Mbappe, Haaland, and Messi.

Kyle Walker compares Kevin De Bruyne to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in terms of quality. The right-back acknowledged the Belgian's importance to the team and was not afraid to make this bold football claim. Walker says, "Kevin goes into that bracket [with Messi and Ronaldo] for me." Because of his quality, Rodri also feels that De Bruyne is needed in the Man City team. Rodri says, "With Kevin, everything is easy. This is the reality; we need him."
