Former Manchester United and France defender Patrice Evra has launched a scathing attack on Kylian Mbappé, criticizing the French Football Federation for placing too much responsibility on the young forward's shoulders.

In a recent interview, Evra suggested that France has been overly focused on Mbappé and has given him too much power within the national team. "It's not Deschamps, it's all of France that gave too much to Mbappé," Evra said. "You gave him the keys to PSG, you give him the keys to the French team, but Mbappé is still a young player."

Evra also compared Mbappé unfavorably to Real Madrid's Karim Benzema, arguing that the latter has achieved a higher level of consistency throughout his career. "You created that legend around Mbappé. With all due respect, he hasn't reached Benzema's level yet," Evra stated.

The former France international also questioned the decision to include Mbappé in the recent squad despite the player's injury concerns. "If you call him up and he gets injured, it's the best way to ruin your relationship with (Florentino) Pérez. Real Madrid is not PSG, you can't take that risk," Evra said, referencing Mbappé's future at Real Madrid.

Evra's comments have sparked a heated debate in France, with many fans and pundits weighing in on the issue. Some have agreed with Evra's assessment, arguing that Mbappé has been given too much responsibility at a young age. Others have defended the young forward, pointing to his numerous achievements and his potential to become one of the greatest players of all time.

The controversy surrounding Mbappé highlights the intense pressure that young players face in modern football. While the 24-year-old has undoubtedly shown great talent, the expectations placed on him have been immense. Evra's comments serve as a reminder that it is important to allow young players time to develop and mature.
