Miralem Pjanic has pleasantly surprised Barça's coaching staff during the days he has been under their discipline. Xavi Hernandez and his staff wanted to see him live before deciding on his continuity and after doing so they have seen firsthand, as they already sensed, that the Bosnian international is a player of high technical and tactical level.
Now they want to continue to see him to analyze in detail whether he can physically withstand the more intense work that will be demanded of the team in preparation for the official start of the season next week, with the start of La Liga.

Pjanic has expressed his willingness to stay at Barça if Xavi wishes so, despite not having won a place with Koeman and also for not having been able to work with Xavi, since he left on loan to Besiktas last September, a loan in which he did not enjoy either. The coach will decide next week but Pjanic, for now, is earning it.
Pjanic will have to accept a further salary reduction in order to stay at the club and not further complicate the Financial Fair Play of the azulgrana team. The main "but" of the continuity of the Bosnian is Nico Gonzalez, who could lose minutes throughout the season and, according to the newspaper AS, it is not ruled out that he could leave on loan. The squad is almost complete.
Xavi Hernandez has told Joan Laporta and company that he wants to count on Pjanic for next season because he is another option for the midfield, both to play as an inside midfielder and to rotate in the midfield alongside Sergio Busquets and Nico Gonzalez. The Blaugrana coach feels that the Bosnian is the ideal replacement for the captain because he has all the individual records.
