Tottenham close to reaching deal with Barcelona for central defender

As reported by Sport newspaper with information from ESPN, Tottenham is negotiating with FC Barcelona for the loan of Clement Lenglet for next season. One of the moves that the Blaugrana want to make to free up a space in the defensive rotation and have more room for maneuver in the summer transfer market.

The London side is in advanced negotiations with FC Barcelona to close the loan deal for the French center-back, who finishes his contract in the summer of 2026 and is not part of Xavi Hernandez's plans for next season. The goal of the azulgrana team is for Lenglet to leave the club on a permanent deal.

Tottenham Hotspur would be willing to take over a significant part of Clement Lenglet's salary, but they are still waiting for the Frenchman to enter into a conversation with Antonio Conte to finalize his role within the squad.
