FC Barcelona managed to have a 3-2 comeback against Celta Vigo during the sixth week of La Liga’s tournament, where they have positioned themselves on second place of the standings, just behind Girona who outmatched 5-2 Mallorca early in the day. However, despite Barcelona kept its undefeated streak, they had a great loss in today’s match.

Frenke DeJong had to be substituted in the 30’ minute due to an injury on his right ankle, and the first medical reports have come up and it’s no good news for the Blaugrana team, as DeJong is expected to be out from any activity for up to five to seven weeks, meaning he will be sidelined until November.

A sprained right ankle is what Frenkie DeJong suffered while playing against Celta Vigo. But after a deep medical conclusion, the Dutch defender had a distal tibiofibular syndesmosis of the right ankle, unfortunately these types of injuries are bad, and DeJong will probably miss the Clasico versus Real Madrid.

DeJong suffered the injury in the 30’ minute of the match, when he had violent entrance against Bamba, Xavi instantly saw Frenkie was in pain, but the Dutch midfielder told his head coach to wait five minutes and see the evolution of the injury, five minutes later, he was substituted by Gavi, who contributed to Barcelona’s epic comeback.

Which games will DeJong miss?

Frenkie DeJong’s sprained right ankle injury will keep him out of any activity for at least five to seven weeks. In a period where Barcelona’s schedule will be tight up at least until the fourth week.

Mallorca and Sevilla are two games that Barcelona may win easily, but after today’s performance of the first half, they will have to work harder to secure more points in the first 45 minutes; Oporto will be Barca’s next UEFA Champions League appointment where they surely miss DeJong; Granada, Bilbao, Shakhtar will be hosted at Estadi Olimpic; and finally Real Madrid and Real Sociedad are the last two games Frenkie will miss.
