The continuity of Joao Félix at Atlético de Madrid remains in doubt. The Portuguese returned from his mid-season loan from Chelsea, who did not want to make use of the purchase option because he did not perform as expected. Now that Atleti have returned to training, the former Benfica player has joined, but his relationship with Diego Simeone hasn't changed at all.

Cholo initially marked him in training that he will not take him into account as a starter. The Portuguese will have to change his attitude at Atleti if he wants to stay, although it seems that he is not in that task. In the last few hours, information emerged from the journalist Manuel Sainz in which he reveals Joao's great desire to play for FC Barcelona.

The big problem is the Portuguese's salary, since according to figures from specialized contract websites, in the last update Joao Félix receives around 14 million euros gross per season, something that Barça could not pay due to the fact that the salary highest is that of Robert Lewandowski with 11 million per year.

It is not the first time that Joao sounds at Barça

The occasion in which he was closest to landing at the Camp Nou was in the winter market of 2022. In fact, Atlético and Barcelona reached an agreement for his transfer and sharing the Portuguese's file, but finally Atleti backed down because It was not intended to reinforce a direct rival in the competition.
