Nasser Al-Khelaïfi is one of the most controverted figures in UEFA. His administration of PSG has been the center of the harshest criticism, especially because of their high salaries, fees and ridiculous contracts they offer to players that few to none other clubs can match.

He's often stated that his is not a ‘state-club’ and that their economic management is due to a very successful and profitable business model, but reality says otherwise. It's widely known that Qatari leaders back up the club financially and this is why they can offer fees such as Mbappé's renewal that was 150 million euros.

La Liga's president Javier Tebas has responded to Al-Khelaïfi's claims and has pointed out that the french club's president is wrong. Tebas stated ‘there’s no magic in Barça, they've sold part of their assets to cover their losses.' He's also attacked PSG and pointed out that they only ‘have to open the gas tap’ to have money.

Barcelona's real economic situation

This season, Barça's income has been corrected by ‘levers’ that the president and board of directors activated. The first one was on June 30th when they sond 10% of their TV rights to Sixth Street for the next 25 years for 207 million. July 22nd, Barcelona sold an additional 15% of their TV rights to the same company for 315 million euros. The last two were the sale of almost 50% of Barça studios for another 200 million euros.
