Lionel Messi has not touch a ball in matchday two of the 2022 FIFA world cup and he is in the news again and this should motivate him to do more in his quest to win the competition. Messi had it rough and was dejected in the first game after defeat in the hands of Asian country, Saudi Arabia, a country that has never won the FIFA world cup.

This will be a perfect year for Messi in his international career if he can silence doubters by grabbing the coveted prize in Qatar, after winning the COPA America and UEFA-CONMEBOL Cup (Finalissima). Since making his debut with the Albiceleste, he has never been this lucky in a year with team. Messi has won it all but only this trophy eludes him.

Globally, Messi has been admired by many due to his magnificient displays both at international and club level. But despite that there are some soccer fans who find ways to troll or mock the great player. Messi has been used to criticism, as he had been criticised for not lifting to the billing while on national duty but that has been rested after the COPA America triumph.

Now in the world cup in Qatar, Saudi Arabian fans prior to their game against Poland was mocking Messi with an inscription on a placard ‘Where is Messi’, the statement was crossed. The second statement read thus: ‘where is Lewandowski’ which was left uncrossed. Saudi Arabia's win against Argentina has entered history book as one of the greatest upsets in the world cup.

Messi to reply critics on pitch

The action of the Arabians who should have focused on their match against Polish team, shows they are still basking in the euphoria of the win or surprised at their team's victory over the Argentine. Whatever banter they throw at the PSG superstar, Messi would be raring to go and perform better as the competition continues in Qatar.
