Brian Rodríguez had a master class at Uruguay victory against Chile 2-1 in the first game of the national teams on the World Cup Qualifiers. The attacker demonstrated that he is a top quality player in a game in which he drew a penalty that game the locals their first goal after Luis Suárez kick.
Rodríguez is only 20 years old and arrived to the MLS when Los Angeles FC paid more than $11 million for him to Peñarol, his Uruguayan former club. Local press reports that he was the best player in the field at the victory against Chile, even better than top players as Luis Suárez, Federico Valverde or Rodrigo Bentancur.
Oscar Tabárez consider him as a vital part of the team, in the start of these Qualifiers and thinks he can be very important for the national team in the next World Cup. The numbers show Rodríguez performance was very important: 54 touches, 8 dribbles completed and 3 key passes.
LAFC are enjoying his top player level this season so far, in which he scored 3 goals and gave 6 assists after 17 games. If he continues at this level we must think that some of the best teams in the world are going to look for him and that he will transform into one of the top Uruguayan's player from the next generation.
