Giovani dos Santos future is still in the air, but it keeps looking less promising by the minute. Even though reports suggested that LAFC was interested in acquiring LA Galaxy’s former offensive midfielder, but Steve Cherundolo, who recently was named LAFC coach, is looking to build a squad with young players.

This news will make Giovani look into different leagues to continue his career, and he could be poised to return to Liga MX, or even move to Central America, but he´ll have to lower his salary expectations.
Teams like Puebla, Mazatlán or Juárez, who recently had Marco Fabián in their squad, could all be potential landing teams for the Mexican, but his salary is what’s keeping them away from negotiations with Gio, as they won’t be able to pay the $2 million per year he was earning with América.

The alternative for the oldest of the dos Santos brothers is joining one of the richest teams in the USL, second tier US division, where they could afford paying the high salary he’s expecting to receive. But if no team is interested in him, then his last resource would be moving to Central America, something other Mexican players have done in the past.
