Goodbye Carlos Vela, the world champion who would arrive at LAFC in the summer

The 35-year-old Mexican attacker joined the LA franchise in 2018, when he decided to leave Real Sociedad in Spain to head LAFC's nascent project. Vela and LAFC did not renew the striker's contract, which expired in December 2023 and since then he has been a free agent. After the departure of Carlos Vela, LAFC may give the franchise player slot to another player and according to journalist David Ornstein, the club is already in talks with Olivier Giroud, the Frenchman who won the World Cup in 2018. The AC Milan striker is finishing his contract with his current club, but apparently there are other clubs besides LAFC looking to sign him.
