The USMNT international will play from now on for the New England Revolution after he said goodbye to Toronto FC a few days ago.
The news of his arrival was celebrated by the team's fans, who welcomed him to the club and wished him the best of luck.
The player arrives at the New England Revolution via free agency and has extended the player's contract for another year, through the 2024 season.
This was made possible after Toronto FC exercised the club's buyout in the offseason, so the Reds will remain responsible for a portion of the player's salary until 2023.
On his arrival at his new club, Altidore's said, "I am excited to begin this next chapter with the Revolution and look forward to competing for trophies in New England."
Altidore further added, "I am grateful for this opportunity to reunite with Bruce Arena and look forward to getting to work with my teammates immediately."
Josmer Volmy Altidore is a more than outstanding player in U.S. soccer and has played for several well-known teams in La Liga, the Premier League, the Turkish Super League, and the Eredivisie.
Not surprisingly, he has twice been recognized as the U.S. Soccer Men's Player of the Year, with more than 195 career goals and 550 games played for club and country.
Outside the United States, Altidore played for Villarreal, later moving to England with Hull City and Sunderland, before landing in Turkey with Bursaspor and Holland with AZ Alkmaar.
Another of his accomplishments was that during the 2012-13 campaign, Altidore set the record for goals scored by an American in a European league with 31 goals for Alkmaar en route to the KNVB Cup title.
Altidore also made 70 Premier League appearances during his time in England and scored four times in 21 Europa League games.
The Livingston, N.J. native arrives at the Revolution for his 11th MLS season, and his record includes two FIFA World Cup appearances, MLS Cup MVP honors, a Dutch Cup title, and more than 200 appearances in European club competition.
