Even after the disappointing 2021 that Mexico National Team had, Gerardo “Tata” Martino surprised everyone when he published the 30-players list that will play in the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers window match, as he called players that aren’t in their best shape.

According to one of the most notorious sports journalists in Mexican television, José Ramón Fernández, some of these callings are out of Martino’s control, as they’re imposed by Mexican Football Federation, following an agenda established by Televisa and other sponsors.

That’s the case of Jorge Sánchez, as the 24-year-old left-back is far from being the best option for the position, given that he’s not a regular in Club América’s squad, as he played just half of the games last season, but nonetheless he’s part of El Tri’s roster.

Who was left out of El Tri’s roster to give Sánchez a spot?

According to “Joserra”, Martino had planned calling Pumas UNAM right-back Alan Mozo, who is a regular in Andrés Lillini’s squad and plays an important role in Los Universitarios offense, as he already has assisted 3 times in the current season.
