Raúl Jiménez needs a partner that can complement his game style.

Although Rogelio Funes Mori has proven time after time that he’s not suited to be part of Mexico National Team, as he gives goals away and prevents El Tri from scoring, Gerardo “Tata” Martino refused to call any other striker and even placed him a starter in two of the three games El Tri played last week.

Carlos Vela is willing to play again for El Tri, but he’s asking for one thing before returning

Martino finally realized, on the last game against Panama, that Raúl Jiménez was a better option and Funes Mori had to watch the game from the bench, but it’s still clear that El Tri needs another striker that can complement what Jiménez does, and neither Funes Mori nor Henry Martín are that striker.

Luckily for El Tri and Martino, in Italy, a Mexican is having a breakout season and could be the striker that they need, especially after the lack of goals the Aztecs have suffered in the last few games, as Teun Wilke has established himself as the goal scorer of SPAL U-19, in Italian second flight.

Who is Teun Wilke?

The 19-year-old forward was born in Mexico after Dutch parents, which is why he had the ability to join a European club without much issue. He started his career in Querétaro Academy teams but moved to the Netherlands, where he played for SC heerenveen U-19 until he was transferred to his current team at the start of the season. He can play for The Netherland or El Tri, but so far, he’s been part of U-18 and U-20 Mexico squads.
