Gerardo Martino has been questioned about the players he decides to call every time Mexico National Team has to play, no matter if its on a friendly match or FIFA match window, as he usually calls the same ones over and over again, even if it’s clear that they don’t have the level to wear El Tri colors.

Mexico National Team’s performances have diminished since last year and now El Tri is in need of a win against Panama in order to stay close to the leaders of CONCACAF Qualifiers, Canada and USMNT, who both won their respective games.

But even if Martino was the one that has Mexico were they currently are -praying to avoid the playoffs-, the Argentinian coach hasn’t thought of resigning. Reports suggest that he is waiting to be fired in order to receive more money.

 

How much could he earn if FMF fires him?

Although some rumors suggest that Martino is expecting to renew his contract with Mexico for the next cycle -the World Cup will be in Mexico, hence he won’t have to go through eliminations again-, FMF would have to pay him $2.2 million, which is what he earns yearly.
