Hirving “Chucky” Lozano has become one of the best Mexican players in Europe since his arrival in 2017 to PSV Eindhoven from CF Pachuca. It only took him two years to consolidate as one of the best players in Eredivisie and hat to look for a bigger challenge.

Raúl Jiménez taught Javier “Chicharito” Hernández a lesson before the upcoming FIFA match window

Carlo Ancelotti gave him the opportunity he was looking for, as the Italian coach personally requested the arrival of Lozano in Napoli, when he was still coaching the Azzurri. Although he’s had a rough time establishing in the starting XI given the multiple coaches that Napoli has had, his performances have gathered him interest from several teams.

But since Luciano Spalletti arrived, he’s showed that he trusts the Mexican right-winger, who has earned the praise of both the ownership of the Azzurri but also from the fans and even the media that used to criticize him in the past.

That’s why reports are linking him to Atlético Madrid, who are looking to strengthen their offensive side as Luis Suárez is most likely to leave Wanda Metropolitano once the 2021-22 season is over. Los Colchoneros tried to sign him last year, but the price that Napoli were asking for him was too high, although things might change for the upcoming summer transfer window.

What’s “Chucky” Lozano’s market value?

According to Transfermarkt, Hirving Lozano’s market value is set at $50 million, although the Azzurri were trying to get at least $55 million for the economic rights of the Mexican right-winger, given that that’s what they paid for him in 2019, and Atlético Madrid wasn’t willing to pay.

But now, reports suggest that Aurelio De Laurentiis is willing to lower that figure to $49 million, to have more possibilities of selling the 26-year-old Mexico international, an opportunity that Atlético Madrid most likely won’t let pass.

Arriving to Atlético is a good decision for Lozano?

It’s true that Atlético hasn’t been a great place for the Mexican players, as Raúl Jiménez couldn’t transcend with the Colchoneros when he arrived in 2014 and had to leave a year later to play with Benfica, in Portugal.

And Héctor Herrera has been through a lot of ups and downs, but it seems he finally established in the starting XI of Diego “Cholo” Simeone, something that Lozano will try to do as soon as possible given the importance of 2022, as the World Cup will be played at the end of the year.
