One of the major absentees from the Mexican national team for Qatar 2022 is precisely Carlos Acevedo. The Santos Laguna player will not be in the next World Cup after confirming the list of 31 players who will play in the training camp prior to the World Cup, and one of the big absentees is precisely Carlos Acevedo.

In that sense, the Mexican goalkeeper already has the main responsible for his absence in the next World Cup. Despite being considered in some part of Martino's process and playing in some friendly matches prior to the World Cup, the reality is that Carlos Acevedo seems that he was never in the Argentinean coach's plans.

According to former Club America goalkeeper Adrian Chavez, Carlos Acevedo's attitude was one of the main reasons why Gerardo Martino did not consider him for the Mexican national team. He believes that the Santos Laguna player sometimes showed himself to be overly concerned about his possible call-up.

Is Acevedo ruled out for Qatar?

The preliminary list is official. Martino called up 31 players and only five of them will be left out of the final list. In it, the three goalkeepers who will go are Guillermo Ochoa, Alfredo Talavera and Rodolfo Cota. For this reason, the only possibility Acevedo would have is if one of these elements ends up injured.
