Mexico national team: Palermo Ortiz to be called up by Martino for Mexico vs. Guatemala

Pumas is having a good semester, as the team is fighting for a place in the playoff places and is also in the final of the Concacaf Champions League. One of the players who has made a difference in the team is defender Arturo Ortíz, who is an undisputed starter in Andrés Lillini's scheme and will now receive his first call-up to the Mexican national team.

According to information from TUDN, the defender of the ‘Universitarios’ has caught the eye of Gerardo 'Tata' Martino and will therefore be called up for the game against the Guatemalan team. 

It is worth mentioning that the youth player of the ‘Auriazul’ team will not have any problem in being able to play the friendly match against the Guatemalans, as he will not be able to play the first leg of the Concachampions final against Seattle Sounders since he was sent off in the second leg semifinal against Cruz Azul.

Finally, up front, Santiago Giménez, Eduardo Aguirre, Rodolfo Pizarro, Roberto Alvarado and Sebastián Córdova.

Due to the fact that this is not a FIFA match window, the Mexican national team will not be able to count on the main players who are playing in European soccer; therefore, most of the players called up will be from Liga MX. The Mexican Soccer Federation has already confirmed Mexico's upcoming friendly matches against Ecuador, Nigeria, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
