Even if Gerardo “Tata” Martino managed to guarantee his presence in Mexico National Team bench at least until the next FIFA match window, in the Mexican Football Federation they’re still looking for a coach to replace him as soon as he fails once again.
Gerardo Martino’s decisions are making that more players decide to quit playing for El Tri
The Argentinian coach was close to losing his job on the past FIFA match window, but both Diego Lainez and Raúl Jiménez managed to give the victory to El Tri against Panamá, as El Lobo de Tepeji managed to score the lone goal via penalty kick on the last minutes of the match.
El Tri earned 7 points, product of two victories and a draw, but Martino will have to do better for the next FIFA match window, as El Tri will face USMNT on a game that can decide the future of CONCACAF Qualifiers, which is why FMF as already preparing to replace the Argentinian coach.
Although their first option was Miguel Herrera, “El Piojo” declined to have a second stint as El Tri coach, which is why Yon de Luisa and FMF will rely on Jaime Lozano, as he’s a young coach that knows what Mexico needs and has a character strong enough to handle the players.
