FMF will wait after the FIFA match window to talk about Martino’s future with El Tri
After a disappointing 2021, where El Tri jeopardized their participation in Qatar for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, reports suggest that “Tata” Martino will have to earn at least 7 out of the 9 possible points in the matches against Jamaica, Costa Rica and Panama in order to keep his position as Mexico National Team coach.
But if he doesn’t make it, FMF’s chairman, Yon de Luisa, already has a coach in mind to replace him, and rumors suggest they are in conversations with him in case Martino fails. Miguel Herrera will be on board to become El Tri coach for a second stint, even though he’s under contract with Tigres.
