For now, he’s part of the tour that the U-20 squad is doing in Uruguay, where he’s been a starter in the three games they’ve played, and even scored a brace on the second game they played against Uruguay U-20, showing that he’s ready to be part of the senior squad.

Herrera is aware of this, and he will make sure that Flores becomes part of El Tri’s roster for Qatar 2022 as soon as he replaces Gerardo Martino, as he knows that what the Aztec squad is lacking are young players with the talent of Flores.
