El Tri will face USMNT, Honduras and El Salvador.

Mexico National Team has yet to face USMNT, Honduras and El Salvador in the next FIFA match window to know if they’ll be able to get a direct ticket to Qatar 2022 or if they’ll have to face an Oceania National Team in a playoff match.

In FMF they don’t stop their attempts of having Nicolás Larcamón in El Tri

And even if they’re third in the CONCACAF Qualifiers table, below USMNT and Canada MNT, tied in points with the Bars and Stars, Gerardo “Tata” Martino hasn’t secured his permanence with El Tri, as they couldn’t win in the moments where they had to prove they were the better CONCACAF team.

For the past FIFA match window, Mexican Football Federation requested that Martino and El Tri earned at least 7 out of the 9 available points to maintain Martino in his position, goal that they achieved, although the way they did it raised questions.

The Aztec squad barely managed to beat Jamaica in Kingston; then, they couldn’t beat Costa Rica in Estadio Azteca, and for the last game, they were able to beat Panama only after Raúl Jiménez scored from the penalty mark. Although they won that game, Hirving Lozano left the pitch on a stretcher.

Will Hirving Lozano be ready for the next match window?

Right after he left the match, the first reports suggested that “Chucky” Lozano was going to be out of action for at least 8 weeks, which would leave him out of activities for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers match window.

When he returned to Italy to recover in Napoli’s facilities, the reports given by the Azzurri were positive, as they believed his injury wasn’t as bad as it was thought to be and were expecting him to return on the first days of March.

But now, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Lozano’s body hasn’t been recovering up to the expected speed, which could jeopardize his participation in the last FIFA match window, something that might hinder El Tri’s performance.

What will happen to Martino if El Tri doesn’t win against USMNT?

Taking in consideration the goal that FMF placed to Martino and El Tri on the past FIFA match window, they might set a similar goal for the upcoming games, but without Lozano’s presence on the pitch, the chances of losing against USMNT have increased.

If Martino loses his fourth straight game against the Bars and Stripes, the most likely thing to happen is that FMF will decide to part ways with him. If that happens, Miguel Herrera will be ready to assume the position, as he knows what it means to arrive in the last minute to save El Tri’s performance in a World Cup.
