Through the hashtag #GritaP*to, Mexican fans are calling for the homophobic shout to be broadcast at the Azteca Stadium. But why do they do it and what could be the FIFA sanction?

The fact is that the highest authority in world soccer had sanctioned Mexico on several occasions just for emitting this shout, to such an extent that they had contemplated leaving El Tri out of the World Cup.
However, these days through social networks, Mexican fans are calling for the homophobic shout to be emitted in the USMNT vs Mexican National Team match at the Azteca Stadium.
Mexican soccer fans and even non-fans are calling for this shout to be made so that the Mexican national team does not go to Qatar 2022, as punishment for what happened at the Corregidora stadium.
The tragedy at the Corregidora Stadium occurred on March 5, 2022, when a Liga MX match between Queretaro and Atlas turned into a pitched battle.
This was because Queretaro fans ambushed and savagely beat Atlas fans, in an event that shook Mexican and world soccer fans.
The tragedy was so great that even the rest of the Liga MX 2022 Round was interrupted. However, the punishments to those responsible did not satisfy Mexican soccer fans, as they called for the club to be disaffiliated.
They also called for the removal of the barras from the stadiums, and for the Mexican national team not to attend the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, as a punishment. But Liga MX paid no attention to these requests.
Therefore, through the hashtag #GritaP*to, on social networks, fans of the Mexican national soccer team are asking everyone attending tonight's match at the Azteca Stadium to perform the homophobic shout.
This is for FIFA to punish Mexico and prevent them from going to the World Cup.
While in the past months it was stipulated from considerably large economic sanctions for the Mexican national team and its possible elimination from the World Cup in Qatar 2022, it seems that things have changed.
According to Mexican press reporters, if the homophobic shout is emitted during the match at the Azteca Stadium, FIFA will not sanction Mexico, as long as FIFA's protocols for this situation are followed.
The protocol indicates that in the event of a shout, the local sound system will invite the attendees to stop shouting as a first step. As a second step, the match would be suspended for a few minutes.
As a third step, the referee may suspend the match for 5 minutes and take the players to the locker room, and as a fourth step, the match will be suspended.
