Mexican striker Carlos Vela could have returned to the Mexican National Team, but Gerardo Martino demanded things from him that he refused to do.

One of the weaknesses that continues to plague the Mexican national team is the offense. Gerardo Martino still has not found the key to correct all the mistakes and counteract the obvious lack of goals once and for all. Players such as Javier Hernandez and Carlos Vela are missing in the team.

Carlos Vela, in an interview with ESPN, commented that he resigned from the Mexican national team after Gerardo Martino refused to call him during the qualifying process. The LAFC player is at a great level and his call-up may not be understood.

According to information from journalist Álvaro Morales, Gerardo Martino asked Carlos Vela that if he wants to go to the World Cup in Qatar, he must give up his luxuries and exclusive rights to image rights with the Mexican National Team. The striker refused to do so and for that reason he was not called up.
