Gerardo “Tata” Martino has been questioned in the past year for multiple reasons, from the way Mexico National Team plays, raising a lot of doubts about their performance on the pitch and even because thanks to his decisions, El Tri constantly is on the brink of elimination in the current World Cup Qualifiers.
Another of Gerardo Martino’s favorite players decides to quit playing for Mexico National Team
Martino ignores him and now he’s thinking of retiring from El Tri
But the reason that most people criticize is because he insists on calling the same players, as if he didn’t know any others -especially after revealing that he doesn’t watch Liga MX matches, given that he lives in Argentina except for the times El Tri is facing a window match.
Now it seems that the players are taking the decisions that he should be making, ass Guillermo Ochoa, Héctor Moreno and Alfredo Talavera have stated that they will retire from El Tri after the current process ends. And now, a new name joins the list.
According to reports, Andrés Guardado is considering retiring from El Tri after Qatar 2022, given that he knows he’s getting close to the end of his career and that another player could give much more to El Tri than what he can. He would also step down in order to send more time with his family.
FMF already has Martino’s replacement if he doesn’t win against USMNT
