Chivas keeps proving that they’re far from being the team that won Liga MX in 2017 and then CONCACAF Champions League the year after, as they haven’t been able to even reach a final after Matías Almeyda left El Rebaño.
Marcelo Michel Leaño is willing to break Chivas traditions to save his job
But since Amaury Vergara took over the team in 2019, Chivas has slowly lost their presence as a club that the other Liga MX clubs should be afraid of face, something that was demonstrated after their game against Club León, in which La Fiera was able to steal the win in the last seconds of the game.
Chivas followers have criticized the way Vergara has undermined the club’s legacy, as he used to be seen in parties or travelling instead of focusing on the team, something that has evolved in the disappointing performance they’ve had since Marcelo Michel Leaño was named Chivas.
