Rogelio Funes Mori is far from living his best moment as a soccer player. Not only did he looked out of place when playing for Mexico National Team in the past World Cup Qualifiers match window and was benched for the last match, but also when playing with Monterrey, as his performances are going down.
Monterrey couldn’t beat an Al-Ahly full of subs
“El Mellizo” gave a goal to Jamaica after he stopped running for the ball and then, against Costa Rica, he was offside on the annotation that would have meant the victory for El Tri. As if that wasn’t enough, he now wasted the chance to redeem himself, this time with Monterrey in their match against Al-Ahly.
The Mexico international had multiple chances of opening the score for Rayados, but his lack of aim was essential for the early elimination of La Pandilla from the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup, as most of his shoots didn’t have goal direction.
Since before Rogelio Funes Mori was able to break the record to become Monterrey’s top scorer in their history, he has had trouble finishing the plays and scoring, which is why on social media people started calling him Rogelio ‘Fallas’ Mori, or Rogelio ‘Failures’ Mori.
