Club América is going through one of their worst starts in Liga MX since the short tournaments were established in 1996, as they currently stand 14 with just one point and with one postponed game against Mazatlán FC, which will be held next week.
All you need to know about Club América’s next match against Santos
Although Santiago Solari had the same team be Liga MX leader last season -eventually they were eliminated in quarterfinals-, the squad seems far from the level the used to play just a few months ago, as they have yet to win their first match of 2022 and have a streak of over 110 days without a victory.
That’s why Guillermo Ochoa, being one of the most experienced and respected players in the dressing room, confronted the squad about their recent performances, given that a lot of them play as if they were forced to instead of enjoying it.
Ochoa faced Bruno Valdez, Roger Martínez and Richard Sánchez, as they’ve all lost their starting roles in Solari’s squad given that they don’t help the team whenever they’re on the pitch, which is why he considers that they no longer have a place in Club América.
