Even if Chivas isn’t the team with the biggest roster of Liga MX, Marcelo Michel Leaño has decided to erase from the team one of the players that has the most experience, even at 25, as he’s played in different European clubs in his short career.

Chivas might lose another player thanks to Marcelo Michel Leaño

What could have meant giving him a break after benching him against Santos Laguna so he could rest and be ready for the Clásico Nacional, turned out to be a decision of erasing Raúl Gudiño from Chivas starting XI, as he also didn’t see activity against Club América.

Michel Leaño made a choice of not prioritizing the result, as he’s not placing the best players on the pitch rather than the ones that agree with him, even if it’s clear that the Mexican coach doesn’t have a solid project for El Rebaño’s future.

Gudiño is aware of this, which is why he’s looking for a way out of El Rebaño, as he knows there’s no firm plan with Michel Leaño on the bench and that Amaury Vergara is in no rush to part ways with him, even if it’s hurting Chivas by keeping him.

What will Gudiño do?

The 25-year-old goalkeeper is on his last months of his contract with Chivas, as it expires at the end of the current season, which is why he has refused to negotiate an extension, as he knows that, as long as Marcelo Michel Leaño stays in El Rebaño, they won’t be contenders.

Gudiño is ready to take on a new challenge where he can actually compete for something, but in Chivas they’re not willing to let him go without leaving any money for the club, which is why they would rather have him benched if he doesn’t negotiate a contract extension instead of having their best goalkeeper on the pitch.

Who can replace Gudiño in Chivas?

It’s become evident that Raúl Gudiño doesn’t have plans of renewing with El Rebaño Sagrado, not even after he finally had become the starter goalkeeper after Antonio Rodríguez’s departure to Club Querétaro, who used to share the starting role with Gudiño when he was in Chivas.

So far, Miguel Jiménez has done a good job under Chivas goal, as he’s been able to keep two straight clean sheets, although the teams El Rebaño has faced in their last games are from the bottom part of Liga MX table. Along Jiménez, Eduardo García could be the second goalkeeper, as he’s been impressing with his performances in the academy teams and with Tapatío, in Liga de Expansión.
