In the debate as to whether Atlas or Pachuca's youth academy is better, the Tuzos' statistics are overwhelming against the Rojinegros. The Zorros were accustomed to dominating in the Tricolor's youth divisions, with idols such as Rafael Márquez and Andrés Guardado, but have lost their leadership to the Hidalgo team, their rival in the final of the Clausura 2022.

In the summer of 2022, in which the U-15, U-16, U-20, U-21 teams and the team coached by Gerardo Tata Martino have been active, Pachuca boasts 24 players in all categories, while Atlas has just five.
"Yes, it is a habit to think about Europe or the Mexican national team, because the youth team has a lot of quality, it is a very big dream and a possible leap," says Kevin Alvarez, a player of the Tuzos, who has been called up for the U.S. tour with the Tricolor.
Mexico's senior national team, which is on tour in the United States, boasts Andrés Guardado as its captain, but Pachuca takes the plaudits for having nine players trained in its basic forces in Gerardo Tata Martino's team, looking for a place in Qatar 2022 and not counting Hirving Chucky Lozano, who was not considered by the Tricolor due to shoulder surgery.
Behind Pachuca is Santos, Atlas' brother, with 13 called-up players in all categories of the Mexican national team, and América, Chivas, and Necaxa compete with 12, half of those contributed by the Tuzos.
Atlas is currently restructuring its basic forces and is building an academy to regain control in this area, but Pachuca is far ahead, in another argument in its favor in the debate as to whether the Tuzos' or the Rojinegros' youth academy is better.
