The odds are in favor of León for the first-leg because they play at home and have not lost in their Stadium in the final stages. Caliente considers them slightly favorites giving them +100 odds. Meanwhile, the bet for Atlas rises to +230 odds, due to their visitor condition, however, they have won their two games as visitors in the Liguilla against Monterrey in the quarter-finals and Pumas UNAM in the semi-finals. The draw is given in +235 odds.
ATLAS: They were 2nd in the standings, presuming the best defense with only 10 goals conceded. Out of 21 games played so far, they have kept 12 clean sheets showing that defense is their great strength. In the quarter-finals, they beat “Rayados” and in the semi-finals, they defeated Pumas, in both cases favored by their place in the table.
LEÓN was 3rd in the overall standings with Ariel Holan in his first tournament as coach in Mexico, an Argentinean with a past on the bench in a sport such as field hockey. In the quarter-finals, they eliminated Puebla with a 3-2 aggregate score, and in the semi-finals, they knocked out Tigres on the criteria of their position in the table.
ATLAS 2-0 LEÓN | They played on Week 10 on September 25th and the “foxes” won with goals from Anderson Santamaría and Diego Barbosa, which at the time meant a streak of three wins in a row.
ONE: The only time that Atlas Guadalajara was Mexican soccer champion dates back to 1951, originating the nickname of its most famous cheering group known as Barra 51. In fact, this will be the first time that the “foxes” will host the second leg of a Final at the Jalisco Stadium.
EIGHT: In the 1940s and 1950s, Leon won four national soccer titles. They had to wait almost four decades to celebrate again in the 1991-92 season and with the arrival of the short-term tournaments, they added three more championships: Apertura 2013, Clausura 2014, and Guardians 2020.
