Julio Furch is the striker that Club América needs; he’s done more in Liguilla than Viñas in Clausura 2022

The first movement that Club América did once their participation in Clausura 2022 was over, was to confirm Fernando “Tano” Ortíz as the coach that will be in Las Águilas’s dugout for Apertura 2022 after the outstanding performance that he had as interim coach.

The second movement that Las Águilas will have to do now that they ensured a good coach, is to find a striker that can contribute consistently throughout the season, as Federico Viñas, who became the favorite striker of Ortíz, was able to score only one goal.

According to reports from Diario Olé, “El Tano” is looking to sign Gustavo del Prete, who currently plays for Argentine side Estudiantes La Plata, although the lack of goals that he had in the 2021-22 season could prevent him from arriving.

Furch is another option for Las Águilas

Reports from La Octava Sports suggest that Club América tried to acquire Julio Furch prior Clausura 2022 started, but Atlas FC refused to let him go as they had just become Liga MX Champions for the first time after 71 years, where Furch scored the goal that gave Los Rojinegros the victory.

But now that Clausura 2022 has already finished, they are looking to pursue his addition once again, as he’s proven to have a better level than Federico Viñas, who will have to return to the bench once Furch arrives to Club América.

The addition of the Argentine striker will be an instant improvement, as in Liguilla, Furch did more than Federico Viñas was able to do throughout the entire season, as the still Atlas FC player scored two goals in six games, including one goal in the final, and Viñas couldn’t score more than once in the 21 games that América played in the season.
