Club America wants to reinforce its squad for Liga MX 2022 and to this end has set its sights on a couple of players, so Cristian Tello or Samu Castillejo would be the latest reinforcement for the Aguilas.
This news was revealed by ESPN journalist Jose Rodolfo Llamas, who affirmed that the final bet of the Aguilas would be one of these two players, so the American board is already sounding out the possibilities for this to happen.
If the arrival of either of these two players is confirmed, they would be added to the 4 reinforcements that the club has presented for this season.
These reinforcements are Diego Valdés, Jonathan Dos Santos, Alejandro Zendejas, and Jorge Meré, acquisitions that the Coapa club has made to seek the Clausura 2022 title, a tournament in which they have not performed well.
More news about Club America reinforcements:
Club América could convince Carlos Vela of joining them after getting his salary reduced in LAFC.
Samuel Castillejo is a Spanish striker who currently plays for A.C Milan in Italy's Serie A and whose stay in the team has been regular since he has played 113 games with the team coached by Stefano Pioli, in which he has scored 10 goals and provided 15 assists.
However, if the Aguilas want him, they will have to fight for him, since according to reports in the Italian press, the player is also wanted by Espanyol, Getafe, Celta, and Real Mallorca, teams that are looking for the player.
But since the player is only a possibility for the club managed by Solari, negotiations with A. C. Milan have not yet begun, as far as is known.
The other player who enters the equation is Cristian Tello, a Spanish winger who currently plays for Real Betis Balompié in La Liga, under the orders of Manuel Pellegrini.
Tello arrived in 2017 at his club and has been a slightly more consistent player than Samu Castillejo as in his time with the Spanish side he has made 158 appearances in which he has scored 22 goals and provided 23 assists.
Cristian Tello is currently a teammate of Mexicans Andres Guardado and Diego Lainez, so it is very likely that he already has some knowledge of Liga MX.
The player born in Sabadell and trained in La Masia of Barcelona is one of the last options of Santiago Solari's team to reinforce the team, which urgently needs to start winning matches convincingly.
The Aguilas have had an irregular start to the tournament as they drew 1-1 with Puebla in their first match, a game in which the team's coach Santiago Solari was sent off.
More news about Santiago Solari:
Did Club América had to pay in order to free Santiago Solari from a bigger punishment?
And in their second match, in Round 3, they were beaten 2-0 by the current Mexican soccer champion, Atlas, so the Azulcremas urgently need a change of direction to get back to winning ways.
It is because of this urgency that the squad's board of directors is on the hunt for reinforcements to help them reverse this irregular start to the tournament so that they can aspire first to the Liguilla and then to the Liga MX 2022 title.
