Even if Liga MX banished the promotion-relegation system a few years ago, the three clubs that finish last after the yearly season have to pay Mexican Football Federation a penalty fee in order to keep their place in Mexico’s top flight.
José Juan Macías already has his first problem as a Chivas player
That has usually led to the worst teams in the tournament to sack their coaches almost immediately if the enter a bad streak, as a losing streak of 4 or 5 games could mean not only that the club won’t aspire to play the playoffs, but also that they’ll most likely have to pay the economical fee.
That’s what happened in Querétaro, as Los Gallos Blancos have yet to win a game, as they’ve got just two points in Clausura 2022 and for Apertura 21 were second to last, after earning just 15 points. Today, they decided to part ways with Leonardo Ramos, as they couldn’t wait any long hoping that things will turn around for them.
Although Ramos’ departure from Querétaro has yet to be made official, rumors are starting to link José Manuel Vucetich -who coached Querétaro in 2015, when Ronaldinho was part of the roster-, as their new coach. But he’s not the only one in the mix, as Tomás Boy could also arrive in Querétaro.
