Manchester United fans are very happy with the first performance of Leny Yoro in the team as he made his debut in the 2-0 win against Rangers FC last week. The French defender has not even been a Manchester United player for a week yet, but fans are happy with his kind words about the club and choosing them over other clubs who were interested in him, one of them being Real Madrid.

His debut in the pre-season victory over Rangers FC was a sign of things to come, and many fans saw the potential in him before the announcement of his arrival at the club. A Manchester United legend that spoke to him was Rio Ferdinand, who was hoping for the Premier League club to sign the player this summer. Ferdinand actually spoke with Yoro when the announcement was made, and the young French defender was very happy/

Yoro revealed that he spoke with the Manchester United legend and said, "It was like two weeks ago that Rio called me. At first, I was impressed to speak with him. We spoke like 10 minutes about Man United and he helped me a lot in making my decision. It was a true honour to speak with him."

Manchester United's official social media pages posted the moment when Rio Ferdinand congratulated Leny Yoro for making the move to the Premier League club. Man United is a historic club in football and it convinced Yoro to choose to play for the Red Devils next season instead of Real Madrid or staying at Lille.

Leny Yoro spoke about joining Man United and his praises were appreciated by the fans. Yoro said, "Signing for a club with the stature and ambition of Man United so early in my career is an incredible honour. Since my first conversations with the club, they set out a clear plan for how I can develop in Manchester as part of this exciting project, and showed a lot of care for me and my family. Manchester United is the biggest club in the world. For me, it was a dream to play for this club!”

Erik Ten Hag on Leny Yoro

Manchester United's manager Erik Ten Hag started Yoro in the friendly match against Rangers, just days after the announcement of his arrival at the club. Ten Hag was impressed with what he saw as he played him for 45 minutes.

Ten Hag said, "It's great to have him. He's a very young central defender, very talented. He's here, we think he can play, but there are so many games he will be in a group of four or five defenders. For a first [match], after just one practice, it's a very mature performance. That's what we saw when we observed him."

When talking about the transfer window, Ten Hag is satisfied wit the club going after many players this summer to improve the squad for the upcoming season. Ten Hag said, "It is very good that we are also there on the front foot [of the transfer window]; we are very proactive, so [the] leadership is doing a great job at this moment, and that’s, I think, how we want to act as Manchester United."
