Lamine Yamal is one of the most exciting young talents in world football as he is only 16 years old but yet is crucial for FC Barcelona and for the Spain national team. The young Spanish winger is given a lot of trust by the Catalan club, and he is once again tested for the first team of Barca next season. There is a bigger responsibility next season for Yamal as he could be offered the number 10 jersey that is so iconic for the club since many greats have worn it in the past. The number 10 is referred to as Lionel Messi's number at FC Barcelona, but since he is no longer there, the club will need to choose which player could wear it next season. The last player to wear it was Ansu Fati, and Yamal had already given his opinion on wearing the number 10. He said, "If Ansu Fati doesn't continue and they offer me the number 10, it would be an honor and a dream. Any child dreams of being the number 10 at Barcelona.”

Yamal knows the pressure of the shirt, and some fans even agree that it is too soon to give him such a number next season in the team. The youngster is now a crucial player for the first team of FC Barcelona, but fans prefer to give him another number so a similar situation doesn't happen like with Ansu Fati.

Fati was also causing lots of hype among the Barcelona fans. Fati scored lots of goals and started for the team alongside Messi during the 2019/2020 season. He was given the number 10 shirt after Messi left in the summer of 2021. Since then, he has suffered injuries and can't find his form at the team, and he is on loan at Brighton.

Lamine Yamal at the EUROS

Yamal has already made history in EURO 2024 as he became the youngest player to ever play in the European Championship. He also has provided two assists in the tournament so far, and the last player to do that as a teenager was Cristiano Ronaldo when he did it in EURO 2004.
