Manchester City is always keen on bringing young players into the squad and 2021 winter transfer market will not be an exception. The English giants have a new target that could expand the options to choose for in the midfield. The dream of Pep Guardiola has a full name and could cost €35 million.

According to Transfermarkt, that’s the price Manchester City’s board will have to pay if they definitely want to sign US Sassuolo’s Manuel Locatelli. He emerged from AC Milan’s academy, and after a good season on loan at the Enzo Ricci stadium, he was acquired from the Rossonero for €12 million for 2019-20 season.

Locatelli just turned 23 years old last week and could be a massive asset for the English side’s midfield among names like Ilkay Gündogan, Kevin De Bruyne, Fernandinho, Rodri and Phil Foden. So far, Manchester City has spent over €171 million in 22 new signings during the season, having got rid of 22 names for €65 million.

The Italian center midfielder is allegedly under contract for €1 million per season until June 30th, 2023. He has recently made his debut for the senior national team of his country, playing against Netherlands in a 1-0 win for the UEFA Nations League. He’d definitely give a boost to his career in case he arrives to Manchester.
