Neymar Jr has proven to be one of the best football players of his generation. He started off his career in his home country, Brazil, where he showed off his moves and his talent as a goal scorer and great assistant. FC Barcelona showed interest in him and signed a contract with him. 

He's been playing soccer since he was a kid, encouraged by his father, who was a former professional football player as well. Neymar was a gifted child, who showed his movements from the beginning. He's always been passionate about football, and he proved this when he started playing for Brazilian team Santos FC, who signed him in 2003.

Soon enough, the Spanish League team, FC Barcelona went after him and signed him for a 5-year-contract in a deal of the outstanding number of €86.2 million, which earned him $15 million per year.

After many achievements in several seasons at FC Barcelona alongside talented players such as the best player in the world, Lionel Messi, and Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez, in August 2017 Neymar decided it was time to look for another move and to lead a team. It was then that he signed an outstanding €222 million contract with French side Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

The signing of Neymar to PSG broke the world-record for a football transfer. But the truth is that it cost more than €222 millions for the French club: the total deal for the trespassing from Barcelona to PSG was for a total of more than €489 millions. 

Neymar's gross annual salary was for more than €43 million per season, over five seasons. His net worth to 2021 is $140 million.

There is no doubt that he enjoys a luxurious life. He likes spending his money both in houses and cars, amongst other things. Neymar Junior's net worth helped him buy all of the things he always wanted to have. 

For starters, he owns a car collection which includes a  Porsche Panamera Turbo he acquired for $383.700, an Maserati Mc12 valued in $643.881, and an Audi R8 Spyder worth $155.057, amongst other cars such as a Ferrari 458, an Aston Martin Vulcan and a Lamborghini Veneno.

In 2012, Neymar bought a triplex for about $750.000. That same year he purchased a mansion for more than $2 million. And a few years after that, he purchased a $150.000 apartment and a $1 million penthouse which he gifted to his wife.
