Xavi Hernardez was appointed as Barcelona Manager a few days ago. The former Barcelona captain made a return to Camp Nou as the club manager after many years of gathering coaching experience.
In his welcome address Xavi accepted that he's arriving at a very difficult period in the club's history and he has a lot of work to do in bringing back the glory days of the club. Little did he know that it could get worse in a few more days.
The club has 11 players injured and the figures were increased in Spain today's win in the World Cup qualifier against Greece in Spiros Louis Olympic Stadium, Athens. Gavi was injured in the 65th minute of the game and was immediately substituted for Sergio Busquets.
This spells a lot of problem for Xavi for a team that has already lost 11 players to injury, including the club captain Gerard Pique who is expected to be back by November 14, The club number 10 Ansu Fati had a Hamstring and will be back by December. New signing Sergio Aguero had a Heart Condition during a match and is expected to be back by February. All this will surely slow down any rebuilding process Xavi may want to embark on.
