A few hours after the derby between America and Chivas de Guadalajara, we review the most important rivalries in the world.

Chivas of Guadalajara vs America is a separate party. No matter how they go in the league, or what competition they are in, it is a game that they must and always want to win. For 90 minutes, the story does not matter, but what happens on the field of play. However, this event does not occur only in Mexico, but is replicated throughout the world.

All eyes are on today's game, and in Mexico they don't think about anything other than what might happen, once the ball starts rolling at Akron Stadium in the city of Guadalajara. However, 8000 kilometers to the south, the exact same thing happens. In Buenos Aires, Boca Juniors and River Plate face each other from the La Bombonera stadium. The "Superclasico" of Argentine soccer is one of the most engaging matches in the world, but mainly on the South American continent, which also has rivalries such as Flamengo - Fluminense in Brazil, and Peñarol - Nacional in Uruguayan soccer.

In Italy, for its part, we can highlight the rivalry that is known in Milan, between Inter and Milan itself. The historical enmity in the quest to conquer the city, has the surprising anecdote that the first meeting between both teams took place in Switzerland, and not properly in Italy. For their part, in the south, Roma and Lazio unite in hatred towards the northern teams, but with a rivalry between them that always causes talk in the south of the country.

The list could go on for ever, and we would go over historical rivalries like Rangers and Celtic from Scotland, Olympiacos vs Panathinaikos in Greece, Fenerbahçe vs Galatasaray in Turkey, or the always interesting Red Star vs Partizan in Serbia. However, the most important derbies in the world, given the figures on the court, are undoubtedly Barcelona vs Real Madrid, Manchester United vs Manchester City, or any of the Londoners between Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea.
