Real Betis defeated Levante 2-0 this weekend on the 28th day of LaLiga of Spain and tied for fifth place in the standings with Real Sociedad. The great protagonist of the meeting was the French Nabil Fekir, world champion in Russia 2018, thanks to a goal that he scored to open the scoring of the meeting, that makes us automatically think of the one Diego Maradona converted to England in 1986.
The French attacker received the ball in the middle of the field and starred in a journey that reminded Diego Armando Maradona at the World Cup in Mexico in 1986. If the Argentine scored the so-called “Goal of the Century” to England, Fekir's goal with the Betis jersey could easily be remembered as the “Goal of the Year”, at least.
The Frenchman picked up a ball near the center circle, turned around and dribbled up to four rival players, entered the area and before the goalkeeper left, he defined by the middle of his legs. Fekir finished in the same area that Maradona did almost 35 years ago. Without a doubt, he is already a candidate for the Puskás Award as the goal of the year.
The stricker is performing at Real Betis, but even so the coach of his country, Didier Deschamps, does not summon him for the National Team. However, with this goal he again ran as a candidate to be part of the list. The attacking midfielder has accumulated 63 games for the Spanish team, in which he has recorded 10 goals and 13 assists, since he arrived in the summer of 2019 from Olympique Lyon.
