He wanted to leave MLS and signed a record-breaking contract with Augsburg FC at just 18 years, but now he might be regretting his decision after his new team lost another game and is now on relegation zone of Bundesliga.

Bundesliga side Augsburg FC suffered a 3-1 loss against Hoffenheim on a match that the red and greens started winning at 5’ with a goal scored by Michael Gregoritsch. Augsburg couldn’t keep the score in their favor and received two goals without an answer.
That’s when they decided to give Pepi his debut after just a couple of training sessions, as he signed just a week ago with the team. The FC Dallas homegrown talent jumped in the pitch at 60’ but he couldn’t do much and saw his team fell by a final 3-1 score.

Although he was signed to carry the weight of the team and save them form relegation, Pepi’s decision of joining Augsburg might have been the wrong one as Augsburg’s season might be destined to relegation with or without Pepi, and a career in a second-tier division might be worse than staying in the MLS or starting from the bench in another team such as Wolfsburg.
