The Mexican team has not received their money prize yet.

The players of Tigres de México asked to collect the prize for having achieved the runner-up in the recent Club World Cup organized by FIFA in Qatar, but their club replied that it cannot pay it because the organism has not yet paid the 4,000,000 dollars for participation in the contest.

Tigres, who lost the final by losing 1-0 to Bayern Munich, Germany, would receive payment of those four million dollars next Friday, according to the MedioTiempo website. “I was not at the Club World Cup, but I know they agreed on how the prize will be distributed for the players, but it was not done because FIFA takes a while to pay. The arrangement is in place and the players will be paid, obviously, ”said Mauricio Culebro, vice president of Tigres.

The leader added to the players' request: "I understand that the arrangement was with Guido Pizarro, Nahuel Guzmán (both Argentines) and André Pierre Gignac (French), but there are no problems in Tigres. The truth is that when the money falls for part of FIFA will be paid to them".

Tigres qualified for the Club World Cup, held last February, after winning the Concachampions (Concacaf Champions Cup) and in the semifinal in Qatar they surprised by eliminating Palmeiras, from Brazil, Libertadores champion, by 1 to 0. Meanwhile, in the domestic tournament the team from Monterrey occupies the 12th position with only three victories so far.
