Javier Eduardo López, known as Chofis, is no longer player from Chivas after the club decided to set him on the transferable list. The player committed and undisciplined act and was sanctioned by both head coach Víctor Vucetich and sport adviser Ricardo Peláez.
Now he will have to find a new club, as Chivas won’t be using him anymore. Actually, Chofis has a reported value of $2 million according to specialized website Transfermarkt and the Rebaño Sagrado won’t let him out for free, that’s why he will have to negotiate his departure.
The three teams from Liga MX interested on signing him are Mazatlán, Monterrey and León. We will have to wait until they present an offer and Chivas analyze it to know if he will move to those sides or not. The chance to add another player and make a barter if also an option that Chivas is considering.
Chofis has also got the interest of some MLS teams, but the negotiations are still running. The midfielder was formed at Chivas and had a contract until June 2022 that will be no longer respected. López was formed at the club and played 185 games, scoring 21 goals and giving 12 assists during his career.
