Javier Eduardo López was a player who showed all his talent since very young. It was said that he could transform into a top player and replace some legends, such as Carlos Vela. But the years passed and Chofis, as he is known, never exploded, even though he performed at a good level.
But the problems from López were not on the field. The offensive midfielder committed too much undisciplined acts that cost him his stay at Chivas. His own former club, for which he plays in the first team since July 2013, decided to sent him out and put him as a transferable player.
Despite having a contract until June 2022, with a possible extension for another year, his time at the Rebaño Sagrado is over. Now, he is trying to look for a place in which he can go to play and show his conditions. The Liga MX side that is very interested on signing him is Mazatlán FC.
President Tomás Boy said that Chofis could even play at Mexico national team and that he wants him at the club, as there are not two players like him on the league. With a reported value of $2 million and after 185 games played at Chivas, López could now move to Mazatlán.
